MAUMEE, OH—The Luken T. Boyle Campaign for Kindness will host its Annual Kindness Rally at  Hensville Park on Sunday, July 28th from noon – 2:00 p.m. at Hensville Park Monroe St. & N. St. Clair St., to commemorate the anniversary of Luken’s passing and observe a “Day of Kindness” in Northwest Ohio.  

What is a Kindness Rally?

A pre-game family-friendly celebration with live entertainment, bounce houses, face-painting, corn hole, and other games to share kindness with fun to remember how Luken T. Boyle lived. 

On July 31, 2017, after an incident of online bullying, fourteen-year-old Luken T. Boyle sadly took his own life. The  Luken T. Boyle Campaign for Kindness was started by Luken’s mother Samantha to teach empathy and spread kindness in her son’s honor.  

To celebrate the life and legacy of Luken, and the mission of the Luken T. Boyle Campaign for Kindness will host its annual Kindness Rally at Hensville on Sunday, July 28, 2024, from noon – 2 p.m. The afternoon’s itinerary will  include: 

  • a kindness proclamation by Mayor of Toledo’s Office
  • live music by Max Boyle
  • University of Toledo Football Coach Jason Candle
  • Central Catholic Irish Dance Team
  • Muddy
  • Food and beverage
  • kid’s face painting and games  
  • Kindness Angel Tree supports four area non-profits 
  • An online fundraising raffle will be held to support our Kindness Rooms.

Following the Kindness Rally, supporters are invited to attend the Mud Hens afternoon game and can purchase a Mud Hen game ticket directly for $11 via https://fevo.me/kindness2024 

Along with the Kindness Rally at Hensville Park, the Luken T. Boyle Campaign for Kindness hopes to engage all of  Northwest Ohio for a city-wide day of kindness on Sunday, July 28, 2024. The community is encouraged to partake in intentional acts of kindness and share them on social media with the hashtag #bekind419. Attendees can consider a gift of Kindness that they can participate with from the Kindness Angel Tree supporting four area non profits.
