Dear Friends and Supporters,
As we move into the summer months, I want to share a few updates from the past quarter and reflect on the exciting progress we’re making at the Luken T. Boyle Campaign for Kindness.
This spring, I had the opportunity to speak at several schools—Longfellow, Larchmont, Horizon, Kenwood (BG), and Grove Patterson—to help close out the school year. These engagements are always an incredible reminder of why we do this work: seeing students light up when they hear that kindness isn’t just a message, but a movement they can lead.
We also opened Kindness Rooms at Grove Patterson and Crim Elementary (BG). While Grove’s opening was quieter, we’ll be looking at ways to improve visibility and support in that space. Crim’s opening was fantastic—we had great media turnout from local outlets and WTOL 11, and the students even shared what kindness means to them. Their teachers are creatively using the Kindness Room as a reward space, and student excitement is high. I can’t wait to see how their program grows in the fall.
There’s also been buzz about adding a room at Kenwood Elementary, with additional interest from the BG Middle Schools and a teacher at Otsego. Momentum is definitely growing!
This quarter also brought new community connections. A mom of one of Luken’s friends who now works at Mindful Behavioral Health has invited me to speak to their summer youth groups—another powerful way to expand our impact.
Looking ahead, we need to focus on our annual Kindness Rally at the Mud Hens Game. Other events (like Central Catholic’s alumni night) are scheduled for the same date, so coordinating and promoting early will be key. We’ll need to ensure we’re on people’s calendars and keep sharing the event across our channels.
Finally, I’ll be attending local youth-focused events this summer hosted by the city and Children’s Services. I’m excited to continue building partnerships and sharing our message of hope, healing, and kindness.
Thank you for believing in this mission. If you know of a school, organization, or person who might want to get involved, please reach out. Together, we’re making kindness a movement.
With gratitude,

Sam Boyle
